Generation Zero Download PC

Generation Zero is a 2019 video game developed and self-published by Avalanche Studios. The game was announced in June 2018 and released on PS4, PC and Xbox One on 26 March 2019.

Plot and setting

The game is set in a post-apocalyptic alternate-reality Sweden, which has become overrun by killer robot machines. According to the plot, these robots were built after World War II for defensive purposes however have subsequently become oppressive to humans and will attempt to kill the player on sight. The player assumes the role of a Swedish teenager who, upon returning from an island excursion, finds that their home has been abandoned and overrun with killer robots and must survive the Swedish wilderness while attempting to determine the fate of those who used to live there 

The artistic style of the game has frequently been likened to the artwork of Simon Stålenhag. including by the artist himself. However, despite perceived similarities, Avalanche Studios has denied that the style of the game has been inspired or motivated by Stålenhag's art and that the artist was not involved directly or indirectly in the making of the game.

Gameplay

Generation Zero is an open-world, co-operative, first-person shooter, survival game that can be played online with up to three other players or solo.

Reception

According to review aggregator Metacritic, Generation Zero has received "generally unfavorable reviews" for the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game and "mixed or average reviews" for the PC version.

Although the game was praised for some of its combat mechanics and for its art style and concept, it was criticized for being unpolished, for its story and for overly repetitive gameplay loops which were perceived as dull.
