Unlike past Paradox titles (Hearts of Iron, Victoria: An Empire Under the Sun and the Europa Universalis series), Crusader Kings focuses on reclaiming Jerusalem, having similarities to role-playing video games.

Reception

The game received "average" reviews according to the review aggregation website Metacritic. Many U.S. reviewers came in a few months before the game's official U.S. release.
